What is SDS Canada?

With the Student Direct Stream program, the students are able to get their Canada study permit faster. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada tend to process the Canada Study Visa process within 20 days only.To be eligible for faster processing through the Student Direct Stream, you must be a legal resident living in one of the following countries:

  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Brazil
  • China
  • Colombia
  • Costa Rica
  • Grenadines
  • India
  • Morocco
  • Pakistan
  • Peru
  • The Philippines
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • Saint Vincent and the
  • Senegal
  • Vietnam

However, some applications can take time. One must need to perform some of the formalities fast if they want to apply under the Student Direct Stream program. The Applicants must have the following documents when they apply:

  • Have an acceptance letter from a post-secondary designated learning institution
  • Have a Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (CAQ) from the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (This is only required, if you’re planning to study in Quebec)
  • IELTS or TEF – An applicant need to crack good scores in IELTS exams and he or she has to show the proof of his IELTS exams when they will apply for Student Direct Stream criteria. The IELTS test is valid for 2 years; make sure you show the valid IELTS test report proof to the authorities. The minimum IELTS score should be 6 or higher in each module that is listening, speaking, reading and writing or TEF which means TEST de Evaluation de Francais. The CLB ( Canadian Language Benchmark) score for this must be 7 for each at least i:e 310 at least in speaking, 310 in writing, 249 in listening and 207 in reading.
  • GIC proof of CAN $ 10,000 – The student will have to show GIC proof of at least $10,000 in any bank which is insured by Canadian Deposit Insurance Scheme (CDIC)
  • Proof of full payment of the first year of study
  • Educational transcripts
  • Proof of completion of medical examination and police clearance (if you need one)
  • Officers must be satisfied that the applicant is bona fide and will leave Canada when their stay will be completed in Canada.
